Red Pine Wood from Wisconsin
Premium Red Pine Lumber from Wisconsin
Red pine is a coniferous evergreen whose trunk grows tall and straight with branches that start further up the tree than evergreens you might imagine. Native to northern Wisconsin, it ranges anywhere from the forests of Minnesota, all the way to eastern Canada. It has a distinct, straight grain & varies in color from light reddish-brown, to pale yellow or white. Menominee Tribal Enterprises uses sustainable practices to produce the best quality wood with every tree harvest.

Red Pine Hardness
On the Janka hardness scale, Red Pine has a hardness level of 1,630 lbf, which is fairly strong wood. Even though the grain is tight, it is still easy to work with. Whether you’re constructing a product or structure by hand or machine, red pine can be easily manipulated the way you want it to be. Because of the relatively low durability, the wood from a red pine is ideal for outdoor structures, including:
- Pulpwood
- Railroad ties
- Utility posts
- Construction lumber
