MTE Wood Supports Cultural Restoration at the Field Museum
We were honored to be mentioned in a recent Chicago Sun-Times article covering a live art collaboration at the Field Museum. The story focuses on the restoration of a historic 19th-century Samoan canoe by master artist Su’a Uilisone Fitiao for an upcoming cultural exhibition.
MTE Wood proudly donated the basswood used to meticulously recreate the canoe's missing paddle, outrigger and bailer. This project is a perfect example of our mission. We provide sustainably harvested, high-quality wood for projects that matter, from fine craftsmanship to vital cultural preservation.
